The Mother City of Capetown is a stunning natural setting, and The Silo Hotel is a lovely place rising above the V&A Waterfront. The Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA), which will compete with the Tate Modern in London, the MoMA in New York, and the Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid, has been built in the grain elevator component of the old grain silo complex, taking up six levels above it. The inclusion of pillowed glass panels, placed into the geometry of the hotel floors, which bulge outward as if gently inflated, is the most obvious external modification to the building's original structure. Due to this, the structure is transformed into a bright lantern or beacon in the harbor at night. The Silo hotel includes 28 spacious rooms, including a magnificent penthouse with one bedroom.
